I am Jane Eyre: The Untold Story Review

I am Jane Eyre: The Untold Story

I was given this book as a gift not knowing it was an erotic version of "Jane Eyre." Now don't get me wrong, I have no problem with a well written, erotic retelling of my favorite book. Unfortunately, I don't feel that "I am Jane Eyre" is well written or probable. Besides the lack of proofreading, the book put me off because I have a huge problem with the fact that Jane would have sexual relations with anyone else besides EFR. But in this "untold story" Jane gets around the countryside more than once with herself, Helen, Miss Temple, Phoebe - another girl from Lowood, Mr. Mason, Diana, and St. John. And not surprisingly, the sensual scenes with Edward, which I actually wanted to read as opposed to all the others, were disappointing.

Maybe it's me, but I think there are much better written mature "Jane Eyre" inspired stories on fanfiction.net. And they are free! So save your money and avoid this book unless you are like me and have to read anything related to "Jane Eyre."

Jane Eyre: The Graphic Novel (American English, Original Text) Review

Jane Eyre: The Graphic Novel (American English, Original Text)

I do not have any experience with graphic novels or comics beyond the random flipping through of my cousin's Batman comics. I found the Graphic Novel version of Jane Eyre to be completely interesting and engaging. The illustrations were magnificent. They really brought the story of Jane Eyre to life. The language was almost exactly the same as the novel. There was once jarring moment where Jane says "Huh?". It just didn't fit with the language of the rest of the comic.
This graphic novel and other graphic novels like it would be excellent in the school atmosphere where some students would be more likely to read and enjoy a graphic novel rather than the novel itself. These graphic novels are beautifully illustrated and remain true to the novels they are based on. I will definitely be buying more of them and hope and pray they make one for Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.

Jane Eyre Review

Perhaps you saw the Wells film - I had watched it just recently, and decided to purchase the book to read once more - what a joy! Just as dark, romantic, mysterious and ultimately wonderful as I remembered it.
I think my years have made me love Jane more, having seen more of life, to understand the deep emotional depth the characters go through, the pressures of their age and social mores, are not unlike ours, different of course, but we have just as many pressures about who or how we love.
We can enjoy this book on many levels, the very well structured and dynamic story, the writing that is so wonderful its like a song, or just to enjoy it for the sake of a darn good book!
Whatever your reason is, its time to read Jane again.
Enjoy!

Jane Slayre Review

Bravo to this author for being brave enough to face the hordes of literary snobs (such as myself) that would bristle at the thought of their beloved Jane Eyre being toyed with in any manner. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this book so much...the thought of Jane stalking around the manor slaying vampires was just brilliant! What an image! I am thrilled with this and would ask all other literary snobs to give it a chance. It's a cross between Jane Eyre and Buffy the Vampire Slayer...too good to pass up.

Jane Eyre Study Guide Review

Jane Eyre Study Guide

As the previous reviewer states, this study guide offers a lot of thoughtful, interesting questions, as well as vocabulary exercises and quizzes. The guide is geared to high school students, and would provide good supplementary material to a unit on Jane Eyre. Buyers should know, however, that it is written from a Christian perspective, and therefore also includes questions based on particular biblical passages as they relate to the novel. This is certainly not a bad thing, but not something I expected.
