It's a really moving story of how even before the North and the South fought, desegregation was rising to the surface. The book is written from the viewpoint of Fredrick Douglas's eldest daughter, Rosetta and her struggle to get an education. It offers a very unique point of view and is a very quick read (60-90 minutes MAX.) If you like history, and alternate views on life, this will make your day!
