(More customer reviews)Unpublished Crime (the title is based upon a twist of an old Simon and Garfunkel lyric) contains five screenplays that include 2 police dramas, a military spy story, and 2 Love/Relationship situations. They are all intermingled with humor and suspense. The first two screenplays, "The Necessary Shot" and "Avenged Desire" deal with violent crime and revenge. They are not for the squeamish. "Soldiers of the Free Clouds" takes place in Germany and is a fun romp reminiscent of the film "Stripes." The last two screenplays, "Triangle" and "Toasted English" are about relationships and are quite believable and funny. As I read the screenplays it was easy to visualize the scenes appearing on a movie screen. This book is a great read, a good escape, and if you've never read a screenplay format before, you should be able to pick it up quickly by reading this book. One warning: Although the last 2 screenplays are rated PG I would characterize them more as PG-13 or R. In any case, the book has interesting characters and witty dialogue and would make great film!

It seems NYC Detectives Jon Streetson and Leo Sevine are going to have another rough day. They have been tracking a cross-dressing serial-killer for months and another body has been found. This time the body is in the East River. But they are not the only ones about to have a rough day. Serial-killer Kirk Lester is about to have troubles at home and he will be in a very bad mood afterwards. That is how The Necessary Shot begins, one of five original screenplays by Jeffrey Len Street. The Necessary Shot, along with Avenged Desire, Soldiers from the Free Clouds, Triangle and Toasted English, they cross genres from the ultra-violent to the ultra-sensitive. There is something for everyone between the covers no matter if you are into crime stories, splatter stories or love stories. Take a couple hours and visit the mind of Jeffrey Len Street; just be prepared to be stunned and surprised.
