(More customer reviews)I was given this book as a gift not knowing it was an erotic version of "Jane Eyre." Now don't get me wrong, I have no problem with a well written, erotic retelling of my favorite book. Unfortunately, I don't feel that "I am Jane Eyre" is well written or probable. Besides the lack of proofreading, the book put me off because I have a huge problem with the fact that Jane would have sexual relations with anyone else besides EFR. But in this "untold story" Jane gets around the countryside more than once with herself, Helen, Miss Temple, Phoebe - another girl from Lowood, Mr. Mason, Diana, and St. John. And not surprisingly, the sensual scenes with Edward, which I actually wanted to read as opposed to all the others, were disappointing.
Maybe it's me, but I think there are much better written mature "Jane Eyre" inspired stories on fanfiction.net. And they are free! So save your money and avoid this book unless you are like me and have to read anything related to "Jane Eyre."
