(More customer reviews)Only a small section of the book is actually a history of the 22nd NY. While I don't except a vast amount of information to be out there on this regiment, surely more detail could have been drawn out on its history. The vast majority of the book is the regimental roster. This would be find if the book was branded as such, but it promises a "history" of the regiment, which it really only delivers in thumbnail sketch form. People with a specific interest in the regiment and its members will likely find useful genealogical here, but there's not much to recommend for the the average reader.

This regiment was involved in the Wilderness, the Wilson Railroad Raid, the Shenandoah Valley Campaign, and Waynesboro. It includes the diary of Seth M. Hall, Private, Co. M, who died at Salisbury Prison.
